The Vision Behind Vastranand: Empowering Every Indian Woman

Every saree tells a story. But behind every Vastranand saree, there is one more story — the story of a vision that began in a tiny shop in Surat and grew into a promise made to every Indian woman: tradition, joy and dignity should be within everyone's reach.

The name itself carries the mission. Vastra means clothing. Anand means joy. Vastranand is, quite simply, the joy of draping tradition — and from day one, our founders believed that joy should empower the women who wear it, weave it, and sell it.

Where It Began: A 160 Sq Ft Dream in Surat

In 2017, in the vibrant Vankar Textile Market of Surat, two brothers — Jigar Viradiya and Ravi Viradiya — opened a humble 160 sq ft shop. Jigar brought sharp business thinking; Ravi brought years of experience in luxury garments. What they shared was bigger than either skill: a conviction that the saree, India's most graceful garment, deserved a business built on people, purpose and pride.

Within six months, sales tripled. By 2019, Vastranand sarees were on India's biggest fashion platforms. Today, a 30,500 sq ft facility in Sachin GIDC and a family of 150+ professionals serve more than one million happy customers — and the vision has never changed.

A Vision Bigger Than Business

In 2024, Vastranand became one of India's first textile brands to fully embrace the F2C (Factory-to-Customer) model — cutting out middlemen and bringing sarees directly from our looms to your doorstep. Why does that matter? Because every rupee saved on middlemen is a rupee that stays with two people who deserve it most: the artisan who made the saree, and the woman who buys it.

That is the vision in one line: fair to the hands that weave, fair to the hands that wear.

Women at the Heart of Vastranand

1. Women entrepreneurs who build their own businesses

Vastranand's value-based reseller model enables women across India to run their own saree businesses — choosing collections, serving their communities, and weaving their own success stories. For many, it is a first income; for many more, it is independence.

2. The artisans who keep heritage alive

Behind our Kanjivaram, Banarasi, Kalamkari, Bandhani and Pattu sarees are skilled artisans and weavers from across India. We honor their ancestral techniques and pay tribute to their craft in every collection — heritage is not a marketing word for us; it is a livelihood we help protect. 3. Affordable elegance for every woman

Empowerment also means access. Because of the F2C model, a bride, a working woman, a student buying her first saree — each can find something beautiful without stretching her budget. Explore our best sellers to see what a million women already love.
