In line with the Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns, 2023 issued by the Central Consumer Protection Authority, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) (Amendment) Rules, 2026, Vastranand conducts a yearly self-audit of its website and shopping experience for the use of dark patterns.

  • Subscription trap — Vastranand does not sell subscriptions; no auto-renewing charges exist. ✅
  • Interface interference — options such as cancelling, declining or closing are as visible as accepting. ✅
  • Bait and switch — advertised products and prices match what is actually offered. ✅
  • Drip pricing — prices are inclusive of all taxes; COD charges are published in the Shipping Policy and shown before payment. ✅
  • Disguised advertisement — no paid or sponsored listings are presented as organic results. ✅
  • Nagging — no repeated interruptions forcing a customer toward a choice. ✅
  • Trick question / trick wording — consent and opt-out language is plain and unambiguous. ✅
  • SaaS billing — not applicable; no recurring software billing. ✅
  • Rogue malware — the website distributes no software; all pages are served over HTTPS via Shopify. ✅
