This navy Kanjivaram silk saree has a fine check grid across the body, with small gold zari buti set in each square. The wide border and pallu carry gold zari bird and paisley-like motifs on a dark ground, so the metal stands out clearly. Dark blue takes gold better than most grounds, and the warm zari against the cool navy gives the saree its look.

The drape suits weddings, festive evenings and parties. Pair it with a gold or cream blouse, or with statement jhumka earrings and gold bangles, to pick up the zari. The unstitched blouse piece is included, and the 5.5 metre length leaves room for a full drape.
