Mustard Banarasi Silk Kalamkari Saree

Mustard in this saree leans towards the golden light of evening pujas and family gatherings. Painted figures from a kalamkari-style scene run across the soft Banarasi silk, drawn in black lines with touches of blue, lilac and orange over a yellow ground. Green tassels at the end of the pallu add a sharp contrast to the mustard.

The gold zari border is woven in dense bands of motifs and checks, so the saree suits weddings and festive poojas as well as daytime functions. Pair it with a plain blouse in green, maroon or cream, and let gold jhumkas and a simple bangle set do the rest. The reverse side is green with a small flower buti and gold zari checks.
